One Legged Seagull

Or Scam Artist!

He totally had 2 legs and was hiding one tucked up...somewhere!

We stood there taking pictures, feeling so sorry for the poor thing. And then it took flight and the missing leg dropped down into place and away he flew.

Faker!

Me too as it turns out.
Purl & Prejudice: it was an honor to be among fastest slow pokes in this year's Sock Madness!

Here is the progress picture of where I quit! I'll change the pattern to do a 2 color heel, repeat the leg chart once in reverse and then knit a plain foot.

Looks like YarnWhisperer will represent our team for the final 4 and I will cheer her loudly...glad to be out mad sock knitting mode. Until next year?

Seriously gorgeous design but what do you mean 'quit'? Why did you quit?

That looks like one tough pattern, Laurie. Pretty though.....

Hi there Ruth!
(I wrote this very long reply about quitting and then realized you have a no-reply email :)

By "quit" I only meant that I dropped out of the knitting competition of Sock Madness after 6 rounds.
(I only intended to knit the 1st pair because my arm & wrist ache from too much repetitive movement for very long. I'm actually a very slow knitter so in order to knit a pair of socks in 3 or 4 days I pushed myself way past healthy knitting! ...Silly/Stupid!! :)

I'll finish the socks (slowly, over the summer that has finally come to our area!) but I'm not that good at stranding yarn down the entire sock - I knit very tight!

Enjoyed your blog entry about UFO's and drawn thread work!! Beautiful work :) I'm just beginning to explore that stitch work and put it on hold to knit 5 pair of socks as part of the Sock Madness competition.
Joining a competitive knit-a-long is one of the sillier things I've done for the last 3 years in a row :)
